A back road. A paddock. A hill after rain. A place that perhaps isn’t marked on a map, but somehow feels familiar.
Muddy Hill Co. is taking shape in regional Victoria — built from the ideas and concepts we’ve created and reflecting where we come from: grounded, practical, creative and always prepared to get stuck in.
We believe big ideas don’t have to come from big cities, professional doesn’t have to mean conventional, and you don’t have to stay in one lane simply because that’s where you started.
Some of our ideas began around the kitchen table. Others in the barn, in a paddock, at a market or in a community hall — often from a conversation that started with:
“What if we…?”
Those conversations are becoming businesses, events, markets, projects and country experiences — bringing together people, places, ideas and opportunities under the wider Muddy Hill umbrella.
Grounded where we are. Going somewhere bigger.
We’re Genevieve and Mandy — two women with big ideas, practical experience and a shared belief that good things happen when people work together.
We know country communities. We understand limited resources, stretched volunteers, small businesses wearing too many hats and great ideas that sometimes just need the right support to get moving.
That’s a big part of why we created Muddy Hill Co.
We wanted to build something that gave us room to explore ideas, create opportunities, work with good people and do work that matters.
Country-based. Community-minded. Collaborative. And always prepared to get stuck in.
Genevieve is a connector. She sees the relationships between people, ideas, organisations and opportunities, and has a natural ability to bring them together.
She understands government, community, funding and partnerships, but it's what she does with that knowledge that matters. Genevieve can see an opportunity, work out who needs to be part of it and start joining the dots.
She's collaborative, practical and genuinely interested in what becomes possible when the right people get around the same table.
And when there's work to be done, she's in it — muddy boots & all.
Mandy sees possibilities — and almost immediately starts working out how to make them happen.
She's a big-picture thinker who can see what an idea could become, where the opportunities might be and what needs to happen to bring it to life.
There is a strong commercial head behind her thinking. She considers the people, the numbers, what could get in the way and how to turn the idea into something that actually works.
She's just as comfortable with a spreadsheet as she is pulling on her muddy boots, talking to stallholders or fixing whatever has gone sideways on event day.
We don't do exactly the same things - and we don't want to.
Mandy tends to ask, "How are we going to make this work?"
Genevieve tends to ask, "Who needs to be part of this?"
Somewhere between those two questions is where a lot of Muddy Hill Co. happens.
We have ideas... LOTS of them! But we're far more interested in what happens NEXT! Because a good idea is only the beginning!
To see regional communities thrive through stronger connection, sustainable local enterprise and opportunities that bring people, business and country together.
We envision a future where good ideas don't stall because people lack the time, tools, resources or support to make them happen - where communities collaborate, small businesses grown, local experiences flourish and regional people have the capability to turn opportunity into action.
Muddy Hill Co. is a regional company that connects people, ideas and opportunities.
We identify needs within our broader communty and create practical response - coordinating events and experiences, supporting businesses and community organisations, developing useful tools and systems, creating local products and enterprises, and building opportunties that strenghthen regional communities.
Our approach is collaborative and practical. We work alongside people rather than simply delivering for them - brining together the right skills, resources and relationships to turn good ideas into something real, useful and sustainable
You don't need to have everything worked out before you contact us.
You might know exactly what you need. You might have an idea scribbled on a piece of paper. Or you might simply know something could work better and need another set of eyes on it.
